Composite Application Framework (Build Web service with NDS)
This event will feature Will Carlton of SAP NetWeaver Regional Implementation Group. Will provides this abstract:

The SAP Composite Application Framework allows you to rapidly build composite applications that enhance the functionality of an existing application without requiring modifications to the existing system. These composite applications (or xApps) utilize specific custom designed object types called Entity Services to bridge the gap between disparate systems. Application Services enable you to encapsulate business rules and logic into a composite application. These Application Services can also be accessed externally by other applications that are not part of the composite . In this session, we will show you how to use NetWeaver Developer Studio to design, build, and test an Application Service which invokes a web service.

The BI accelerator in SAP NetWeaver BI 2004s
When working with a business intelligence (BI) solution, factors such as large data volumes, unpredictable usage patterns, and intense demands from users for fast response times can make performance optimization challenging, time-consuming, and costly. This is addressed with the BI capabilities of SAP NetWeaver 2004s and the BI accelerator. The BI accelerator is an innovative technology that provides extraordinary improvements to query and analytic performance using state-of-the-art improved search engine technology. You`ll hear all about how to bring the significant benefits of this technology to bear on your business information management, including how it will enhance user productivity and adoption rates and reduce TCO in terms of maintenance costs for performance administration. Learn how the "transparent" deployment of the accelerator supports all relevant queries (pre-planned and ad hoc ? no more outguessing your users!) with minimal tuning administration. Hear about customer experiences, and take away an understanding of how the BI accelerator can help you realize very significant performance improvements in your own BI system.
